PPS Plus Software Gives Back: This holiday season, we're putting a fun (and competitive) spin on giving back to the community

Make a Wish & Feed my Sheep donations

In the past, members of the PPS Plus family have participated in any number of charitable events, from walks and runs to donations and volunteerism. This year, we've come together as an office to support two very important causes.

This year's annual Halloween costume contest was extra special. Instead of staying in-house, we traveled to Our Lady of Fatima Elementary School, where a sixth grade class served as our judges. To share in the joy of giving, we invited Shellie Moses, the Make-A-Wish Foundation's Regional Director for South Mississippi, who accepted a $1,000 donation from President John Shinn on behalf of our entire staff. The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes to children between the ages of 2 and a half and 18 who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses.

With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, we all look forward to a wonderful meal and quality time with family, but for those without, the holidays are often difficult. Fortunately, programs like Feed My Sheep exist to assist those in need. Feed My Sheep is a local program that provides meals to homeless and home-bound individuals. To contribute to their cause, our office divided into four teams to collect non-perishable food items. Each team's collection was evaluated by guest judge Robert "Tater" Pitalo, the head cook from Fayard's Grocery and Deli, who selected the winning team based on variety of items and forecasted menu. Winner or not, everyone at PPS Plus was excited to contribute to such an outstanding cause. In addition, 10 members of our staff will be assisting Feed My Sheep to serve meals during the lunch hour on Wednesday, Nov. 24.
